Newscast – Trump Threatens To Sue BBC For One Billion Dollars

Available for more than a year
Today President Trump threatened to sue the BBC for $1 billion. In a second message to the company, Trump’s legal team demanded the BBC “immediately withdraw” its Panorama programme, which contained a speech he described as “false and defamatory”. It comes as BBC chief Samir Shah apologized for an “error of judgment” regarding the edit and said the BBC was considering how to respond to Trump. BBC director general Tim Davie and BBC news chief executive Deborah Turness resigned on Sunday night after a leaked memo criticized the 2024 Panorama program about the US president. Adam and Chris are joined by Washington Chief Anchor Caitriona Perry and Media and Culture Editor Katie Razzall. You can now listen to the News Broadcast on your smart speaker.
