Milton Keynes nightclub fire: Man arrested as ‘significant’ fire erupts at UK venue | UK | News

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a “serious” fire at an LGBT+ nightclub. Thames Valley Police received reports that the Pink Punters venue in Milton Keynes was on fire at around 2am on Sunday 26 April.
Police added that several partygoers and residents in the Watling Street area were safely evacuated by staff. In the footage, flames on the top floor of the building can be seen rising above the roof. Police said the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Officers and Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue remain at the scene and roads remain closed.
Police said a 51-year-old man from Buckinghamshire was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and remains in custody.
Pink Punters has been in business for over twenty years and offers dance floors, an outdoor bar and karaoke.
Chief Inspector Emma Baillie, commanding officer at Milton Keynes, said: “This was a significant fire which required the evacuation of a large number of people.
“Thankfully no one was injured and staff at the venue worked quickly and effectively to evacuate everyone safely.”
He added: “It is currently too early to comment on any specific cause of this incident and we respectfully ask people not to speculate.”
