Bengaluru on high alert after Delhi car blast, police conduct intensive checks at Bengaluru metro stations, railway stations, bus stands

Immediately after the blast near the Red Fort, the Bengaluru police carried out security checks at many public places, including metro stations, bus stands and railway stations.
Delhi has been on high alert after a deadly car explosion near the Red Fort killed eight people and injured many others on Monday evening. Security has also been increased in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata as a precaution.
In Bengaluru, police have intensified checks at important points. Police carried out security checks in many public areas, including metro stations, bus stops and train stations. Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh said that strict patrolling and surveillance measures have been taken across the city. Officers were ordered to remain vigilant and increase enforcement in their areas. “We will check all abandoned vehicles in Bengaluru. Barricades have been set up on main roads, vehicles and people will be checked thoroughly,” Singh told TOI.
Security has been strengthened at Kempegowda International Airport, KSR Railway Station and KSRTC and BMTC bus stations at Majestic. Extra police teams have also been deployed at metro stations to monitor suspicious activity.
Hotels, PGs, hostels and public places are being checked. Senior police officers have been told to conduct regular patrols, especially in busy markets and commercial areas. Sabotage and bomb disposal teams are ready in case of any emergency.
