According to HT, the area outside the court, usually packed with visitors attending daily hearings, was thrown into chaos after the explosion.

This incident came just a day after a similar explosion involving a parked car near Delhi’s Red Fort killed 13 people. Authorities in India have registered a case under stringent UAPA and Explosives Act while investigations are ongoing.

Another twist to the story suggests that the explosion in Islamabad took place just a day after Pakistani security forces thwarted an attempt by militants to take students hostage at an army-run college in the city of Wana in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, near the Afghan border.

According to reports, a suicide bomber along with five other Pakistani Taliban fighters attacked the facility overnight, where at least six people were injured. Wana has long been a stronghold of the Pakistani Taliban, Al Qaeda and other extremist networks.

Officials said soldiers successfully foiled the attack by killing two militants, while the remaining three were quickly surrounded and held inside one of the blocks.
