Laura Kuenssberg dealt huge blow as Reform scraps BBC documentary | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Following the controversy, Reform UK announced that it would no longer cooperate with the BBC’s program about the party led by Nigel Farage. Donald Trump‘s speech is held at Panorama. The BBC documentary, which will air in January, was commissioned by October Films and will be called The Rise of Reform, produced by Laura Kuenssberg.

An internal Reform email obtained by the BBC advised members to refuse to take part in the filming, while also stating that the production company “acted unprofessionally”. According to BBC News, the documentary’s producers were given “unprecedented access” to key players in Reformation England. The internal email stated that a decision had been made to “discontinue association” with the documentary.

The BBC shared part of the email: “We would like to make clear that October Films have always acted in a professional manner and there is no suggestion from us that they would maliciously misrepresent Reform UK.

“But trust has been lost following the Panorama documentary and both the BBC and the production company will need to work hard to regain that trust.”

It is unclear whether the documentary would have been released without the cooperation of Reform UK.

Express.co.uk has contacted the BBC and Reform UK for further comment.

Following the update, Reform UK Chief Whip Lee Anderson told GB News the decision was a “trust issue”.

He said: “We saw what they did to Donald Trump in the speech. I continue to watch, I watch over and over again.

“I truly cannot believe what I saw and heard; how could the BBC, the voice of our great nation around the world, do such a sneaky, underhanded thing to our best friend in the world?”

The Panorama segment in question appeared to be edited to show Trump encouraging his supporters to riot at the Capitol. Earlier this week, Trump said he wanted to sue the BBC for $1 billion.

BBC spokesman said Telegram: “We must remember that Panorama delivers quality prime time investigative journalism every week; last month’s Undercover in the Police is the latest example.”
