Man attacked by in-laws amid domestic dispute in Bowenpally

A domestic argument turned violent in Bowenpally on Tuesday night when a man was attacked by his mother-in-law. The victim, identified as Syed Junaid Ahmed (35), sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment at a private hospital.

According to Bowenpally police, the incident was reported around 9.30 pm when Junaid’s father-in-law Syed Atheekuddin (52), brother-in-law Syed Sohail (30) and uncle Syed Rafiq came to his house and attacked him with knives.

Inspector N. Tirupathi Raju said Junaid married Syeda Samreen Bano in 2018 and the couple has three children aged 6 years, 4 years and 8 months. There were reportedly ongoing marital disputes between the couple and Samreen accused her husband of both mental and physical abuse.

Angered by the mistreatment, the woman’s family members confronted Junaid and attacked him, leaving him with multiple injuries. It was learned that the condition of the person, who was immediately taken to a private hospital, was stable.

Based on the complaint, Bowenpally police arrested the three accused and sent them to judicial custody. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
