Last movements of woman revealed before alleged murder

The last time a woman was seen alive has been revealed after she was allegedly murdered by her flatmate and left in their home for almost two months.
Tasmania Police have released photos and CCTV footage of the woman seen in a shopping area on March 18; investigators believed the woman was last seen alive.
The woman’s body was found at her home in Hobart’s New Town on Saturday; police said the woman lay dead for almost two months.
Detective Inspector David Gill said the 61-year-old, who police are not naming at the request of his family, regularly traveled to the Glenorchy CBD and New Town areas.
“As we try to establish a timeline, we are seeking assistance from the public regarding the woman’s movements before she was located,” he said.
“We are asking anyone who saw him, helped him or interacted with him to contact us.”
The woman’s 56-year-old flatmate was charged with murder and appeared in Hobart Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Authorities were alerted to the death on Saturday afternoon and found her body lying in the hallway of the house.
Police went to the property early that morning to take the man to a medical appointment but did not enter the house, Det Insp Gill said on Sunday.
