BBC fee ‘criminalises people who want to watch TV’, says Dorries | News

Former Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries attacks BBC license fee, claiming it is mandatory payment “criminals people who want to watch television.”
During an appearance on ITV’s Peston program on Wednesday (November 12), Dorries criticized the funding model for unfairly charging viewers.
He also questioned the feasibility of the system in the “digital age” and emphasized that the younger generation now gets its news from other sources.
His comments reignited the debate over the future of the license fee, which he had previously tried to freeze while in government.
