EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Video released by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office shows a pursuit that occurred on Doniphan Drive in the Upper Valley on Wednesday, Nov. 12, leading to the driver’s arrest at Whataburger.
The Sheriff’s Office said deputies attempted to stop a vehicle in the 8100 block of Doniphan Drive.
The driver, later identified as Damian Bautista, 29, refused to stop and led a deputy on a high-speed pursuit. Bautista eventually crossed into the neighboring state of New Mexico and fled the area.

He was charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and his bond was set at $50,000.
Lapel video shows Bautista walking outside the Whataburger, another employee closing the door, and a deputy taking him into custody. When the deputy asks his name, Bautista confirms his identity before being taken to his patrol vehicle.
