A.P. govt. ratifies land requisition for 580-acre Global Toy Park in Anakapalli

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the proposal of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) to set up a Global Toy Park on a 580-acre land spread across Upamaka and Ch. Lakshmipuram villages in Nakkapalli mandal of Anakapalli district. GO Ms. No. issued by Minister of Industry and Commerce (Infra) Department N. Yuvaraj on Sunday, November 16. 223 approved the request submitted by APIIC to acquire 581.39 acres of land for the project.
The decision is in line with the Union government’s National Toys Action Plan, which aims to transform India into a global toy manufacturing hub by promoting industrial clusters, skill development and sustainable production. The global toy industry is worth $120 billion, but India currently accounts for less than 0.5% of global exports. Changing global supply chains present a significant opportunity for the State, officials said.
APIIC was earlier directed to collaborate with Pals Global Toy Park and prepare flexible land allocation models for international investors. The Center has also suggested rent-based allocations, deferred payment options, rent-based land access and phased land acquisition to improve ease of doing business.
The identified land is 497.61 acres in Upamaka and Ch. Lakshmipuram. The government said the park would boost employment and industrial growth in the region. APIIC vice-chairman and MD and Anakapalli District Collector have been instructed to take necessary steps.
