DMHO Warns Action Against Unregistered Clinics

visakhapatnam: District medical and health officer (DMHO) Dr P. Jagadeeswara Rao directed all hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, screening centers and fertility centers in Visakhapatnam district to register under the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010.
DMHO said all eligible healthcare institutions must complete their registration online through designated government portals. He warned that hospitals, clinics, laboratories, screening centers and fertility centers operating without valid registration or renewal would face legal action under the provisions of the Act.
He called on health institutions that did not obtain a license or did not renew their licenses to complete the process as soon as possible. While hospitals, clinics, laboratories and fertility centers can register through the Clinical Establishments portal, screening centers must register through the PCPNDT portal.
County health officials advised all healthcare providers to comply with legal registration requirements to avoid legal action.
According to official data, Visakhapatnam district has 425 screening centres, 250 hospitals and nursing homes, 320 physiotherapy, dental and general clinics and 300 laboratories.
