Upasana Kamineni Konidela, wife of South superstar Ram Charan and also an entrepreneur by profession, has triggered a major debate on women ‘freezing eggs’ to focus on their careers. The entrepreneur, who also faced reactions on social media, expressed his thoughts once again using the X (formerly Twitter) account: “I am happy to have started a healthy discussion and thank you for your respectful responses.
Stay tuned as I voice my views on the joys/pressures of privilege that you all talk about.” She added: “Don’t forget to check out my pictures! “There are very important facts that will help you make the right interpretations.” He added: “And for all these solid employers, let’s work together to get more women into the workforce.”
In her post, she asked, “Is it wrong for a woman to marry for love instead of bowing to social pressure? Is it wrong to wait until she finds the right partner?” “Is it wrong for a woman to choose on her own terms when she wants to have children? Is it wrong for a woman to set her goals and focus on her career rather than just thinking about getting married or having children early?”
In another post, Upasana said: “FACT CHECK: I married for love and companionship at 27, a choice I made on my own terms. At 29, I decided to freeze my eggs for personal and health reasons, something I’ve always talked about openly to encourage other women to explore their own options. (This wasn’t at Apollo, according to the record.)
I’m happy to have started a healthy discussion and thank you for your respectful responses.
Stay tuned as I voice my opinions on the joys/pressures of privilege you all talk about.

“I gave birth to my first child at the age of 36 and now I am expecting twins at the age of 39.” She added: “Throughout my journey, I have placed equal emphasis on developing my career and improving my marriage because a happy, stable environment is so important when raising a family.” The entrepreneur also wrote: “For me, marriage and career are not competing priorities; these are equally meaningful parts of a full life. But I decide the timeline!” This is not a privilege; This is my right!!!” For the unversed, Upasana was seen at a recent event in Hyderabad talking about the idea of ”freezing eggs” to have children later and focus on their careers first.

Speaking of Upasana and Ram, the couple got married in 2012. They gave birth to their daughter in 2023, when Upasana was 34 years old. The couple is reportedly currently expecting twins. During Diwali this year, Upasana announced her pregnancy with a post on social media.
