SIA Raids Kashmir Times Head Office in Jammu, Recovers Arms, Ammunition

Jammu: An SIA spokesperson said that it raided the head office of Kashmir Times in Jammu on Thursday and seized arms, ammunition and incriminating documents during a search operation conducted on allegations that the publication was promoting anti-national activities. The agency also searched the house of Prabodh Jamwal, the owner of the media house in Gandhi Nagar in Jammu, as part of the same investigation.

The searches, conducted before an Executive Magistrate, were carried out in continuation of the investigation into the case registered against Kashmir Times media outlet (kashmirtimes.com) for its alleged involvement in criminal conspiracy with separatist and other anti-national organizations operating in and outside Jammu and Kashmir, the agency said in a statement.

The FIR was registered against the organisation, alleging that this private media platform was propagating terrorist and separatist ideology, spreading inflammatory, fabricated and false narratives, trying to radicalize the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, inciting discontent and separatist sentiments, disturbing peace and public order, and challenging India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity through print and digital content.

The statement stated that during the raid and search carried out at the office premises of Kashmir Times in Residency Road, Jammu, the following incriminating weapons and ammunition were seized: One pistol, 14 empty AK series gun cases, three live AK bullets, four live rounds, four hand grenade safety levers and three suspected pistol bullets.

“All the recovered items were seized at the scene following the necessary legal procedures. These seizures indicate possible illegal possession and suspected links with extremist or anti-national elements and require further investigation,” the statement said. expressions were used.

Seized weapons, ammunition, digital devices and documents will be subjected to forensic and technical examination to determine their source, purpose and possible connections with banned organizations or individuals.

The investigation is still ongoing and additional measures will be taken based on the evidence that emerges.
