“We are ready to work constructively, honestly and quickly.”

Trump’s draft plan includes Ukraine giving up territory in the Donbas region on the Russian border, even though some of these regions are in the hands of Ukrainian forces.

Additionally, the number of Ukrainian defense forces needs to be reduced to 600,000 (from an estimated 900,000) and the use of long-range missiles and other weapons capable of reaching Russian targets must be abandoned.

Kiev will not be allowed to invade Russia or use military force to take back territory seized from Moscow. Telegram reported. Ukraine will also not be allowed to accept NATO troops into the country, and foreign warplanes will only be allowed to be stationed in Poland.

In exchange for peace, the entire Donbas region and Crimea will be given to Russia, it will be freed from Western sanctions, and it will be included in the G7 again, forming the G8 once again..

About two-thirds of Russia’s nearly $300 billion ($465 billion) in frozen assets seized worldwide will be returned to Moscow, while the remaining $100 billion will be given to Ukraine to rebuild the war-torn country.

Zelensky will have to hold elections within 100 days of the ceasefire, while Russian President Vladimir Putin will promise not to invade any NATO countries.

The basis of the agreement is an as-yet-undefined security guarantee for Ukraine by the United States and European allies. The plan states that any violation of the agreement by Kiev will result in the loss of this guarantee.

Leaders in Kiev have rejected the idea of giving up military power and exposing the country to future threats from Russia and Putin.

Oleksandr Merezhko, chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the Ukrainian parliament, described the plan as “absolutely meaningless” in his statement. with Kyiv Independent.

Still, Zelensky’s office confirmed that it had received the draft and that the president was ready to begin negotiations.

“We are ready, as before, to work constructively with the American side, as well as with our partners in Europe and the world, so that the outcome is peace,” AEDT said on Friday.

The moves come after Russia fired 476 drones and 48 missiles into Ukraine in a single night, killing 26 people and injuring nearly 100 others. Three children were among those missing during a strike at an apartment building in the western city of Ternopil.

European Commission foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas welcomed the US initiative to make peace, but cited the Russian bombing as evidence of a lack of commitment to peace in Moscow. “For any plan to work, Ukrainians and Europeans must also participate,” he said.

“We need to understand that there is an aggressor and a victim in this war. We have not heard of any concessions by Russia.”

“If Russia really wanted peace, it could have agreed to an unconditional ceasefire some time ago.”

The controversial peace plan emerged three weeks after Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff met with senior Russian official Kirill Dmitriev for several days in Florida.

Tougher US sanctions on Russian oil exports will come into effect on Friday after Trump last month targeted the two largest suppliers, Lukoil and Rosneft. Lukoil received an extension to divest part of its operations, while restrictions on Rosneft will begin on November 21.

The move reduces some of the oil revenue already flowing to Moscow, as some buyers have cut back on their use of Russian oil out of fear they would be seized by the American sanctions regime for doing business with the targeted companies.

Reliance Industries, which operates the world’s largest oil refinery in Jamnagar, India, said on Thursday – a day before the US deadline – that it had stopped using Russian oil in its export refinery.

The refinery is estimated to account for 90 percent of the oil and diesel shipped from India to Australia each year, according to the Center for Energy and Clean Air Research, a European non-profit group.

Reliance has not promised to stop using Russian oil at a neighboring refinery that supplies India’s domestic market.
