Third-highest ranking person in the Chinese government Zhao Leji lands in Australia

Australia has received the third most senior figure in the Chinese government.
Mr. Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, arrived in the country for a four-day visit.
Mr Leji arrived in Brisbane on Saturday afternoon and met with the Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives, Milton Dick, on the tarmac.

Photos captured a group of supporters eagerly awaiting Mr Leji’s arrival.
The Chinese politician is set to explore Brisbane and Canberra as a guest of the Australian Parliament during the four-day trip.
According to the Federal Government, his visit will include contacts that reflect the importance of parliamentary exchanges in strengthening dialogue between Australia and China and deepening people-to-people ties.
The visit comes after Senator Sue Lines visited China last October and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited the country in July this year and met with Mr Leji for a second time.
Mr Albanese’s trip in July was his second official visit to China. While in Beijing, he managed to meet with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang at the Annual Leaders’ Meeting.
The Prime Minister also met with the business community to discuss trade and business relations.
