PM Modi in Australia LIVE: Australia can help India achieve 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030, says PM

Prime Minister Modi was feted and greeted with a Guard of Honour, in the Australian capital as part of his visit to the country.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was also present at the ceremony area and received the Prime Minister. Before the ceremony, the two leaders greeted each other.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi addressed business leaders at the India-Australia CEO Forum and Economic Roadmap Business Reception held in Melbourne, which was also attended by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

Emphasizing India’s clean energy targets, Prime Minister Modi said: “Many clean energy-related companies are present here. We are building a manufacturing ecosystem for hydro projects, green hydrogen, solar modules and wind turbines in India. India has set a target of reaching 500 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2070. Australia’s technology, capital and resources can accelerate this transition.”
