Strictly’s La Voix breaks down in tears as she speaks about having to withdraw from the competition due to foot injury: ‘This is not how I wanted my journey to end’

An emotional La Voix couldn’t hold back her tears as she said goodbye to Strictly after being forced to withdraw from the competition due to injury.
The 45-year-old drag star, whose real name is Christopher Dennis, appeared on Sunday’s show in Blackpool and opened up about his sudden departure.
La Voix has been advised on medical grounds that she can no longer appear on Strictly after injuring her foot in rehearsals earlier in the week.
Describing it as the most ‘extraordinary experience’, the TV star said: ‘I came to the show as a minority, a redhead, and you all embraced me in a wonderful way.
‘I can’t thank you enough… I didn’t want my journey to end this way,’ before joking: ‘At least it gives someone else a chance to win this competition.’
Speaking about their partnership, 35-year-old Aljaz Skorjanec said: ‘I was lucky this year. I made two friends for life. We all laugh with La Voix on Saturday/Sunday and I had the best time with Chris from Monday to Friday.

La Voix was told she could no longer appear on Strictly due to medical reasons after injuring her foot in rehearsals earlier in the week.
‘I haven’t done a single exercise in the last six months but I’ve got my six-pack back, which is great.
‘As Motsi says, ‘We all need this’. The world needs you more. I definitely needed it, you made my life a joy.. You are so beautiful at what you do.’
La Voix told Aljaz she would leave Strictly a ‘braver, happier and more confident person’.
At the end of the show, the duo took to the dance floor to say goodbye to the audience, and the professional dancer had to sweep La Voix off her feet due to an injury.

La Voix’s sudden withdrawal from the competition meant that none of the six remaining couples could be voted on this weekend.
La Voix took to Instagram minutes after his departure was announced and shared a statement.
She wrote: ‘Absolutely devastated to be withdrawing from Strictly Come Dancing. This wasn’t the glittering debut I’d ever dreamed of, and it breaks my heart to feel like I’ve let people down.
‘My soul wanted to keep dancing but my feet had other ideas! Thank you for every cheer, every vote, and every glimmer of support; This meant the world to me. ‘This wasn’t the ending I imagined, but I will cherish it forever.’
La Voix’s departure comes after former Love Island star Dani Dyer, 29, quit the competition ahead of the first live show on September 27 after breaking her ankle in rehearsals.
And Neighbors actor Stefan Dennis, 67, pulled out of Strictly Come Dancing on October 20 after tearing his calf muscle.
In another part of the programme, Strictly alumnus Danny Mac wowed viewers.

The new routine included elements from Jay and Ashley’s iconic Jives, Danny’s famous Samba, and Layton’s flashy Quickstep.
On her return to Strictly, Ashley said ahead of the show: ‘I’m so excited and grateful to be back on the glittering ground of Blackpool.’
Danny added: ‘Dancing in Blackpool was an absolute highlight of my time on Strictly. ‘It’s as exciting as it is terrifying to return to The Tower Ballroom once again, but I can’t wait to be reunited with the wonderful people who make this show.’

On Saturday, it was announced that none of the remaining six pairs would be eliminated after La Voix had to withdraw from the competition due to injury.
Emmerdale star Lewis Cope, 30, and Katya Jones, 36, topped this week’s leaderboard with 40 points.
EastEnders actor Balvinder Sopal (46) and Julian Caillon (30) came last with 33 points.
The scores given by the judges (Craig Revel Horwood, 60, Motsi Mabuse, 44, Shirley Ballas, 65 and Anton Du Beke, 59), as well as the viewers’ votes, will be transferred and combined with next week’s scores and votes.
