Guy Fieri rushed to emergency surgery after tearing quad muscle badly

Guy Fieri underwent emergency surgery after missing a few steps and tearing his quad muscle in half.
The Food Network star revealed in an interview with Fox News Digital that she is currently in a wheelchair and uses crutches.
“[I] He slid down a set of steps, moving one foot forward while the other caught on the threshold. So that stretched me out. It probably looked like I was doing the splits, but when my right leg squeezed the fracture point in on itself, and the doctor said he hadn’t seen a split-half tear in the biggest, thickest part of your quad in—you know, 20 years. Yeah, it sucked,” Fieri said.

He explained that he was rushed into surgery to ensure his muscles did not “stretch” after the fall.

“Normally you tear that muscle in your tendon or the tendon ruptures the bone, but this was right in the middle of the entire quad muscle and it burst,” Fieri said.

The chef explained that he was in the middle of filming his new show, “Flavor Town Food Fight,” when the fall and surgery occurred.
“So, right in the middle of filming this, everyone in town, all the chefs are there, and there’s 125 people on set — and everyone’s ready to go — and I’m in surgery. So, we figured out how to change it up and have some creative shooting techniques. But it was a run, and now I’m here on the farm, which has always been about hiking and the outdoors, and you know, it’s beautiful,” Fieri said, explaining that his injury was a trauma. “shock absorber.”

Fieri predicts his injury, which will keep him out of action for eight weeks, will definitely impact this year’s Thanksgiving dinner.

“Oh, it’s going to affect that because I’m on crutches and a wheelchair. So, I have to stay off of that. I can’t walk on it for eight weeks. So it was funny. My son Ryder texted me from school and said, ‘I think all the training you gave me and all the cooking I cooked while I was in school was going to be my time to shine.’ And I said, ‘I’m so glad you asked me that and I told you that you should do that,'” Fieri said.

The professional chef plans to pass the torch to his two sons, Hunter and Ryder, and his nephew Jules for this holiday.
“So I have three boys, Hunter, Ryder and Jules, and they all know how to cook. Now I’m going to be the quarterback from the wheelchair and tell them what to do. And we’re cooking for about 40 people here. So it’s going to be an adventure,” Fieri said.

Fieri has a long recovery process. After eight weeks of no weight on his leg, he will need to be put in a cast and then have his quadriceps area rehabilitated.

“Eight weeks of weightlessness, crutches, cast and then rehab, to me I want to recover as quickly as possible. He said: ‘You know all you want, go back to being Guy, you’re really going to have to go through this process.’ [it].”
“I didn’t break anything. I mean, I broke it all when I was a kid. I broke my leg, I broke my knee, I broke my ankle, I broke my sternum, my ribs, my tailbone. I mean, you know, you name it, I broke it. But I stopped doing that. You know, I was done with that kind of behavior a long time ago,” Fieri said.
