Jackiey Budden lets rip on Jeff Brazier’s split as she blames Kate Dwyer for toxic family feud and claims he put ‘his marriage ahead of his sons’

The children’s grandmother revealed today that Jeff Brazier puts his marriage to Kate Dwyer ‘before his relationship with his sons’ after it was revealed the TV presenter had split from his PR consultant.

The GMB presenter, 46, and Ms Dwyer are understood to have split permanently as they moved into new homes separately in recent weeks.

Now Brazier’s former mother-in-law, Jackiey Budden (whose famous daughter Jade died in 2007 at the age of 29), has told how her decision to marry Dwyer was the cause of a bitter falling out that led to a falling out between her and her sons.

Brazier and Ms Dwyer, 35, met while working on the set of ITV’s This Morning in 2013 and married in Portugal five years later; His two sons from a previous relationship, Bobby (22) and Freddy (21), served as best men.

However, their relationship has been plagued with problems ever since; This led to them being separated for seven months in 2022 and finally separating for good this fall.

And Ms Budden, 68, claimed today that the couple’s problems had caused further rifts between both extended families and that the marriage was ‘the worst choice Jeff ever made’.

Ms Budden, whose former son-in-law previously threatened legal action over his relationships with his grandchildren, told The Daily Mail today she was relieved her second marriage was over for good.

She said: ‘I’m glad your marriage ended because it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. So yes, I’m really pleased.

‘Jeff chose to put his relationship with Kate Dwyer ahead of his relationship with his own sons.

‘After all, they are my grandchildren… and that’s why Jeff and I don’t get along.

‘When I tried to get involved in raising the boys he wasn’t interested.

‘Maybe he thought marrying Kate would make things easier but I always felt it wouldn’t work.

‘I always knew trouble was coming there and I remember telling Bobby ‘watch out here’ because I knew their relationship wouldn’t last.

‘And I was right: They dated, broke up, got back together, got married, broke up again.

‘If this break is good this time then he will be in better shape.

‘Jeff will now get his life back. He will be reunited with his family and friends he no longer sees.

‘The second marriage was the worst choice he ever made.’

She said Jeff particularly annoyed her because he didn’t make Mother’s Day all about his dead ex-wife.

She said: ‘For God’s sake, even on Mother’s Day. This was supposed to be Jade’s day.’

He also claimed a case against him never amounted to anything, saying: ‘This was complete nonsense. He did not submit any documents. He’s full of nonsense.’

Jackiey said Jeff particularly annoyed her by not reflecting on Mother’s Day to his daughter, Jade Goody, his deceased ex-wife (a photo taken with Bobby and Freddy in 2006).

Allegedly, Brazier was considering taking legal action to block access between his sons and their grandmother in order to ‘keep them safe’.

Freddy, who is expecting his first child with on/off girlfriend Holly Swinburn, claimed Jackiey got him hooked on drugs and later tragically revealed he “tried to end it all” by “crashing his car” in the middle of a “manic episode”.

Jeff recently shared photos from a new rural property as he detailed a ‘transitional time’ in his life and how he is ‘living quietly’.

While reporting from Reykjavik on Monday’s GMB, Jeff was seen missing his wedding ring, while Kate reportedly left her group after heading to Las Vegas for the Grand Prix.

According to The Sun, Kate moved back to her Hackney flat after growing apart from Jeff amid Freddy’s struggles.

In the middle of a family feud in June, Freddy lashed out at Kate and listed the things he hated, one of which was ‘stepparents’.

Last year the broadcaster admitted she ‘felt like a failure’ in her marriage to Jeff before realizing every couple goes through difficulties after they reconcile.

‘I’m glad his marriage is over because it shouldn’t have happened in the first place when Jeff chose to put his own relationship ahead of his relationship with his sons,’ Jackiey said.

He revealed his thoughts on marriage after a follower asked him for advice on how to get their marriage back on track.

She replied: ‘I think we’re all guilty of only portraying the good parts on social media. In my opinion, anyone who says getting married and raising children is easy is lying. I felt like such a failure until I realized everyone has their own struggles.

‘I never share the details of our relationship, but the one thing I am grateful for is that my husband is willing to put as much effort into himself and the relationship as I do. You can’t ask for anything more than that.”

Freddy announced that he would have his first child in August and promised to change his life and improve his relationship with his father.

The influencer lost her mother Jade when she was just four years old after she died of cervical cancer on Mother’s Day in 2009.
