Second teenage boy charged with murder after alleged stabbing behind Sydney school | Sydney

A second teenage boy has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing an older boy behind the school.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, died from a stab wound to his thigh following a confrontation in a park in Sydney’s northwest at around 4.20pm on Monday.
That same night, another 15-year-old boy was also charged with murder.
Police arrested a second 15-year-old in connection with the alleged assault after executing a search warrant at a home near the scene around 9.45pm on Tuesday.
He has since been charged with murder and is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

The first 15-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, appeared in juvenile court on Tuesday.
He did not apply for bail and will remain in custody for the next eight weeks.
In the statement given to the police, the police claimed that the teenager attacked the victim without any reason and stabbed him in the groin area.
The court also heard the 15-year-old boy was recorded on body-worn camera footage telling an officer: “I stabbed another boy in the leg.”
The death, which occurred in a conservation area, close to several high schools and visible to many walking nearby, shook the community.

On Tuesday morning, some locals in the area were seen laying flowers in honor of the deceased.
Police said those involved in Monday’s shooting were not from the nearby school and officers believe it was not a random attack.
The second teenager was denied bail to appear in juvenile court on Wednesday.
