Odisha BJP leader arrested over assault on govt. officer; civil servants return to work

BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan was arrested late on Thursday evening in connection with the attack on Ratnakar Sahoo, the additional commissioner of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Company, and a mass protest ended by civil servants who seriously influenced the functioning of the state offices.
Mr. Pradhan, whose brain behind the attack was allegedly allegedly, was arrested after surrendering in front of the Deputy Police Jagmohan Meena Commissioner who informed him about the charges against him.
Um I came here to cooperate with an investigation, B BJP leader said that he had no connection with the attack on Mr. Sahoo. The arrest of Mr. Pradhan came as a shame for the ruling party.
The crisis was prevented
The arrest prevented a major administrative crisis that continued to work with members of Odisha Administrative Service Association (OASA), the largest civil servant organ in the state. There are 2,248 sanctions for OAS officers in the state and are sent to key administrative roles at more than 1,800 officers, regional and state levels.
Oasa, Mr. Pradhan made it clear that his members would not return until he was arrested, and he called him the prime minister and king of the attack on Mr. Sahoo.
The attack took place on June 30 when a group of BJP workers allegedly linked to Mr. Pradhan took off and beaten Mr. Sahoo from his office.
The video of the attack has become viral and evokes widespread condemnation from all neighborhoods. The city police arrested five people in connection with the attack. The BJP’s state unit suspended five party workers, including a company, for its primary membership.
