Why Indonesia wants BrahMos missile from India

Indonesia wants to purchase all three versions of BrahMos: land, naval and air force.
By destroying Pakistan’s air bases, the BrahMos also destroyed their propaganda. BrahMos, who caused havoc in Pakistan, have now been executed in the world’s largest Muslim country. The BrahMos missile is currently being purchased by Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim country.
Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin visited India for two days. He also visited the BrahMos manufacturing unit in Delhi. He received detailed information about the missile’s capabilities. He met his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh. The two held comprehensive talks on regional security and defense cooperation. During the discussion, the Indonesian Minister of Defense suggested the purchase of BrahMos. Indonesia wants to purchase all three versions of BrahMos: land, naval and air force. However, it currently needs a naval version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. Sources state that this BrahMos missile deal with Indonesia is worth Rs 38,770 million. According to reports, India has even agreed to provide Indonesia with a loan from one of its national banks for the BrahMos missile deal.
Rajnath Singh gifted a replica of the BrahMos missile to the Indonesian Defense Minister. This is a clear indication that negotiations on the BrahMos agreement between the two countries have concluded. Technically, it will result in Russia giving the green light.
The hitherto existing diplomatic relationship between India and Indonesia will now be elevated to a new level. Military ties between the two countries will also deepen. The purchase of BrahMos by the world’s largest Muslim country from India is an important message for both Pakistan and China. First, understand how Indonesia has deftly touched a sensitive spot in Pakistan.
Pakistan wants to become the Caliph of Islamic countries by mobilizing Muslim countries. Türkiye stands behind this. During Operation Sindoor, Türkiye supplied weapons to Pakistan only because they shared a common religious bond. However, the country with the largest Muslim population did not purchase weapons from Türkiye. It also did not purchase any missiles from Pakistan. Indonesia expressed its confidence in India.
It doesn’t mean Pakistan doesn’t have missiles. It’s also not that he doesn’t want to sell them. Babur boasts of missiles like Shaheen and Ghauri. However, Indonesia did not buy them because it did not trust Pakistani missiles at all.
Indonesia became the second country to purchase BrahMos after the Philippines. Additionally, countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and Egypt have expressed interest in purchasing BrahMos. All these countries want to buy BrahMos because they realize that it is the world’s fastest and most advanced supersonic cruise missile. Its speed is Mach 2.8 or 3,450 km per hour. Its range is 290 km. And it was extensively tested after Operation Sindoor.
