The scam comes as the Coalition campaign to blame renewables for rising electricity prices has gone into overdrive with Murdoch’s headlines today about energy bill scaremongering.

But the latest data from the National Electricity Market shows renewable energy made up more than half of Australia’s grid for the first time in November. These are wind and solar energy, whose wholesale prices are well below fossil fuel prices, according to the latest data. Rooftop solar power is only $9.28 per megawatt hour.
