Hezbollah killed Lebanese figures threatening to expose 2020 Beirut port blast plans, IDF reveals
It was claimed that the four people who were allegedly assassinated were customs office officials and journalists who pointed out Hezbollah’s connection with the deadly explosion.
Hezbollah Unit 121 assassinated four Lebanese figures for fear they would reveal links between the terrorist group and 2020. Port of Beirut IDF Arabic Spokesperson Colonel Avichay Adraee claimed that the explosion occurred on Tuesday.

Joseph Skaff was the head of customs inspections at the port, who was allegedly overthrown by Unit 121 assassins in 2017 after demanding that Hezbollah remove stocks of ammonium nitrate from the port.
Mounir Abou Rjeily headed the anti-smuggling section at the customs department and was allegedly stabbed to death by Unit 121 assassins in December 2020 after informing authorities about Hezbollah’s connection to the explosion.
Joe Bejjani was a photographer who was one of the first people to document the aftermath of the explosion and worked with the Lebanese Armed Forces to assist in the investigation. He was shot dead in his car in December 2020, with assassins stealing his phone before fleeing the scene.
Lokman Slim was an outspoken political activist and journalist who frequently criticized the terrorist organization. Slim was also shot and killed in his car in February 2021, shortly after publicly blaming Hezbollah and Syria’s Bashar al-Assad for responsibility for the explosion.

Adraee completed his statement by stating that these four people were not the only people assassinated by the terrorist organization. former prime minister Rafik HaririLebanese Christian politician Elias Hasrouni, who was assassinated in 2005, was also killed by the terrorist organization.
Adraee warned that the IDF has intelligence on “a long list that we have not yet disclosed” that includes additional examples of Unit 121 assassinating Lebanese officials and opponents of Hezbollah.
