Zohran Mamdani won the New York City mayoral election fairly easily against Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, but it looks like those weren’t his only rivals.

Sports fans in the city decided that with so many athletes receiving handfuls of votes, their votes should be given to someone else.

The city’s two biggest stars, Aaron Judge and Jalen Brunson, appeared on many ballots. The current three-time American League MVP received 11 total votes, while the New York Knicks star received 29 votes (although some people had trouble spelling his name).

Ultimately, none of the athletes will take office next year, as Mamdani won the vote quite easily. He will take office when the calendar turns to 2026.
