UK forecast maps show exact date Britain battered by snow – full list of areas | Weather | News

Parts of the UK will be blanketed in snow and much of the country will face a freezing onslaught. The forecast comes as Britain issues yellow weather warnings for wind and rain in parts of the country today and tomorrow (December 8 and 9).

WXCharts is forecasting wintry weather across parts of Britain by the end of next week. The weather forecaster predicted snow would fall in central and northern Scotland at 6am on December 19. It is also envisaged in North Wales and South Wales.

The same forecaster also predicted rain across England, including the South West, South East, East Anglia, Midlands and North. There will also be rain in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

The Met Office said of the period: “A similar pattern to that seen in early December is expected to continue, particularly initially, with frontal systems from the Atlantic spreading across and across the UK, interspersed with some temporary drier interludes.

“These will bring occasional heavy rains and could lead to some impact risks given how wet the weather has been recently. “There may also be potential for strong winds at times.

“Although generally mild, there may be a slight downward trend in temperatures later in the period, particularly in northern parts of the UK where there may be a slightly higher chance of experiencing some winter hazards at times.”
