Trump greenlights Nvidia H200 AI chip sales to China, says Xi responded positively

The United States will allow tech giant Nvidia to ship its H200 AI chips to “approved customers” in China and elsewhere under a set of conditions, President Donald Trump said on Monday.

Trump wrote that Chinese President Xi Jinping “responded positively” to the offer. Real Social post.

Trump’s post said 25 percent of chip sales would be paid to the U.S. government as part of the deal, and said the president was allowing “strong Homeland Security to continue.”

The White House did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
