Man stabbed near school with police and air ambulance at scene | UK | News

A man was stabbed in a horror attack outside a school in south Manchester, with police and an air ambulance rushing to the scene. Police said the incident occurred outside Old Hendek Elementary School but was unrelated to the school.

The incident took place after an argument involving three people that quickly turned violent. During the argument, one person was injured with a knife and required urgent medical attention. It was learned that the person was taken to the hospital and his life was not in danger. Two men, aged 47 and 18, have been detained in connection with the incident and are currently being questioned by police.

Authorities have since launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack. Footage from the scene showed an air ambulance landing at Old Moat Park off Yew Tree Road, highlighting the seriousness of the response and the urgency for emergency services to take action. In a statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We arrested two men, aged 47 and 18, in response to a stabbing incident in Old Moat Lane today (10 December 2025).

“We were called at around 11.50am to reports of a stabbing following a fight between three men outside a school in Withington. One man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. There is thought to be no wider threat to the public and the investigation is ongoing.”
