NFL news: Patriots’ Drake Maye opens up ‘superstar’ wife’s viral baking fame

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye isn’t the only member of his family taking the world by storm.
Maye’s wife, Ann Michael, went viral on TikTok for her cooking videos. Ann Michael started her “Bakemas” series on December 1, in which she plans to bake something every day until Christmas.
The Patriots quarterback talked about his wife’s social media fame and said he would try all of her pastries.

“It was great,” Maye said. “WEEI Afternoons.”
“(He’s) on his little journey right now doing “Bakemas.” I do the good part of trying everything he cooks. I’m trying to bring some of the leftovers into the building.”
The first video of Ann Michael’s “Bakemas” series has been viewed more than 1.6 million times. He has more than 207,000 followers. Drake made a quick cameo by popping his head into the frame before storming out on the second day of “Bakemas.”

Drake said people struggle with Ann Michael’s double name, but she’s a superstar.
“I think people up north have a little trouble with the double name thing. Her name is a double name, Ann Michael, I hope people understand that. But she’s a superstar. Having her here and living with me has been a big help to me,” Maye said.
The 23-year-old point guard is turning into a superstar himself. The Patriots are 11-2 this season and Maye has played a huge role in the team’s success.

Maye, a front-runner for the MVP award, rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.5% of his passes for 3,412 yards with 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. Maye has the highest completion percentage in the NFL.
The former North Carolina star will look to extend the Patriots’ 10-game winning streak against the Buffalo Bills (9-4) in a key AFC East matchup on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
