Carol Vorderman, 65, reveals she was rushed to hospital after suffering a horror fall which left her unconscious

Carol Vorderman has revealed she was recently taken to hospital by ambulance after suffering a terrifying fall that left her unconscious.
The 65-year-old TV star took to Instagram to share his medical condition after injuring himself by tripping over a tree root outside his home and ‘hitting the asphalt’.
The Countdown legend explained in a video: ‘I’ve got a story to tell you about concussion, which might also explain why I was offline for a bit in June.
‘I was walking on a public footpath just outside my house at the end of May and tripped over a tree root I didn’t see.
‘And I crashed here on the asphalt road and I was unconscious.
‘I don’t remember what happened then but I know an ambulance arrived and I was taken to BRI, Bristol Royal Infirmary.
‘By the way, I also know that they played the last countdown in the ambulance on the way. That’s another story, but it made me laugh.’
Carol Vorderman has revealed she was recently taken to hospital by ambulance after suffering a terrifying fall that left her unconscious.
Carol went into further detail, stating how: ‘Discharged next day, severe vomiting, all bad signs.
‘When we got back to the hospital they were wonderful. A&E did all the CT scans and everything. Out again. I had the biggest bruises or bruises all over my face for three or four weeks.
‘But what it left me with after about two or three weeks was dizziness. So it felt like I was walking on a moving ship, like I was hitting a bit of a wall.’
The I’m A Celebrity star revealed she felt like the room was spinning and thanked the ‘Epley technique’ and a lady called Sophie who introduced her to it, for helping her overcome it.
Carol insisted: ‘I’m not a doctor. ‘I don’t give people advice about this, but I just tell you what happened to me.’
He went on to explain how BBPV happens, adding that ‘it’s all about the inner ear and this little sack of crystals that gets dislodged and puts it back together.’
After three sessions where physio Sophie applied the Epley technique, Carol says she has been discharged from the ward and ‘couldn’t be happier’.
This comes after Carol revealed she hopes to go under the knife and get a makeover ‘within the next few years’.
The presenter has responded to criticism she has previously faced for getting Botox to maintain her ageless appearance, doubling down on plans for more surgery in a new interview.
Responding to criticism about her tweaks, Carol explained that she would “spend her money on the things she loves” and that she had “no problem” about having surgery in the future.
The 65-year-old TV star took to Instagram to share an update on his health after injuring himself by tripping over a tree root outside his home and ‘hitting the asphalt’.
She told the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden: ‘I don’t look as good as I did in my 40s, but I don’t think I look bad for my age either.
‘I’ve had Botox and stuff and I’ll probably get a face lift in the next few years.’
‘This is my money, I earned it, so I’ll spend it on what I want. ‘I accept myself but I also want to look good and those two things can go together.’
Carol has previously said she has a ‘nothing is taken for granted’ approach to aging as she describes the abuse she often receives regarding her appearance.
She told the Sunday Times Magazine in 2024: ‘Everyone on TV has Botox. I look like that because it makes me happy.
‘But you get to a point in life where nothing is a problem. I love what David Bowie said about getting older: “You always become the person you were meant to be.”
‘My sixties were always the age I was supposed to be. The harassment I receive is off limits, but I don’t care. In fact, it encourages me.’
She also explained that she never actually had breast surgery, but when she went through menopause, her breasts grew three sizes larger.
