“Students, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics suspended head football coach Sherrone Moore for violating University policy by engaging in inappropriate sexual intercourse with a staff member earlier this week,” a copy of the message obtained by Fox News Digital read. “This behavior is absolutely not tolerated at the University of Michigan. None. I have been in close communication with the Board of Trustees, and we are united in doing the right thing. This breach of trust by Coach Moore is painful for many in our community, most importantly those directly involved in this situation.”

Moore is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
