Jeffery Simmons home burglarized during Titans-49ers game on Sunday

Tennessee Titans star linebacker Jeffery Simmons attacked burglars who broke into his home while he was playing against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said there were “at least six suspects” who burglarized Simmons’ Nashville home shortly after 7 p.m. he told ESPN.

This was exactly the time period when the Titans faced the 49ers in the Bay Area.

“What if any of my family were in my house?” Simmons shared security camera footage of thieves trying to break into his home on social media. “You can have all these materialistic things, but this is crazy!”

Although Simmons praised the Metro Nashville Police Department, he also called the thieves “cowards.”

“I want to express my sincere appreciation to the Metro Nashville Police Department and the Titans’ security team for their professionalism and quick response,” Simmons said in a statement. he said. “Their dedication to keeping our entire Nashville community safe does not go unnoticed. I am grateful for God’s protection and grace.”

The suspects were said to have entered Simmons’ home “after breaking window panes” and “multiple items were taken” in the process.

It’s unclear what exactly was taken from Simmons’ home.

Meanwhile, Simmons managed to find the end zone despite the loss to the 49ers, so a good individual performance came to a screeching halt when he learned the news.

But unfortunately, Simmons isn’t the only NFL star who was burglarized while playing.

Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce experienced this last season, as did Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. These thefts were all linked to a South American theft group that specifically targeted NFL and NBA players.

Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders also saw $200,000 worth of merchandise stolen from his home during a game against the Baltimore Ravens earlier this season.

The Titans’ security team said it was “actively working” with local police to recover stolen items.
