Vanity Fair’s White House portraits punctures Trump unreality

Now you’ve seen them. Portraits of White House staff by Christopher Anderson of Vanity Fair two part series The revelations about Trump’s second administration are extraordinary.
Vice President J.D. Vance, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and others were shot in tight, close-ups under unforgiving light, revealing every flaw and porosity.
Trump supporters and detractors alike left plenty of comments showing how hilariously insulting and brutal the images were. Leavitt’s lip filler injection scars or Veins in Vance’s nose — but I think what really struck everyone about this is how fragile and inescapably human the most openly authoritarian White House staff in history seem.
