Two members of the Lulu Mall management and an event organizer from Shreyas Media appeared before the Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) police for questioning on Friday, December 19, 2025, in connection with the mobbing of actor Nidhhi Agerwal during the launch of a song from the upcoming film. Raja Saab on Wednesday.

The defendants are being questioned over lack of prior permission for the event and deficiencies in crowd control and security arrangements.

The interrogation came after a suo motu case was registered by the police on Thursday, December 18, 2025, after videos of the incident went viral on social media.

The actor is hesitant to file a lawsuit

Sources close to the investigation said the case was taken up after the actor expressed reluctance to make a formal complaint, leading police to act on their own. “We talked to him and he said he didn’t want to file a complaint,” an official said.

The police registered a case under Sections 223 (disobedience to an order duly issued by a public servant) and 292 (public nuisance) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against two members of the mall management and a representative of the event management company for organizing the event without prior permission.

According to preliminary findings, the incident occurred when Agerwal was leaving the venue after the incident. Police said crowds gathered around him near the exit point, with fans trying to take photos and interact with the actor. During this time, he allegedly tried to shake hands with one of his fans, triggering a sudden surge as others rushed to do the same.

As the crowd closed in from all sides, the situation quickly spiraled out of control, forcing the player to get stuck and move.

Footage showed that he was repeatedly pushed as he tried to get to his car, and security personnel had difficulty creating a safe passage through the crowd.

Authorities said the defendants will likely be summoned again for further questioning on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Investigators are also analyzing CCTV footage from the mall premises to identify people involved in mobbing and assess whether there were lapses in crowd management and security arrangements during the event.
