In K. Everyambadi village in Harur constituency, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, an almost mass boycott of ballot boxes, followed by a demand for re-voting punctuated by a discriminatory demand and hostage of voting machines, marked the voting day.

Vanniyar village, which has over 900 voters, boycotted the Assembly elections, resisting the shifting of two high school departments to the neighboring Scheduled Caste Colony in the same panchayat, where a government school building was set up in a larger area. However, the ballot box boycott ended when citizens demanded a re-vote after the polls closed.
