Balakrishna Prays at Varanasi, Calls for Upholding Sanatana Dharma

Nandamuri Balakrishna, known as Balayya, recently visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, where he performed special pujas and sought divine blessings. The visit took place after his latest film, Akhanda 2, which was released on December 12.

Speaking on the occasion, Balakrishna emphasized the importance of Sanatana Dharma and stated that it is the collective responsibility of everyone to protect and preserve it. He said that playing a “Sanatana soldier” in Akhanda 2 gave him great personal satisfaction and that the main message of the film resonated strongly with the audience.

Directed by Boyapati Srinu, Akhanda 2 blends spirituality, high-octane action and mass elements. Balakrishna’s fierce screen presence, powerful dialogues and rising scenes have struck a chord with fans. The film’s music, composed by SS Thaman, emerged as one of the highlights of the film.

Produced by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the banner 14 Reels Plus, the film received generally mixed response. Despite performing well in the Telugu states, Akhanda 2 failed to make a significant impact in North India, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. In Karnataka alone, the film reportedly collected around Rs 4 Million against its commercial value of Rs 8 Billion.

Despite mixed box office results, Balakrishna expressed happiness about his visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple and is confident that Akhanda 2 will be another turning point in his career.
