A thick layer of fog shrouded the National Capital Region (NCR) on Tuesday morning as air quality deteriorated to “Severe” levels. The Air Quality Index rose to a dangerous level of 413 as of 08:00 in the morning and initiated the “Phased Response Action Plan – 4” measures.
Visibility in the city was negatively affected, causing disruptions to early morning journeys and posing serious health hazards to residents. Major iconic structures in the country, such as India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan, remained covered in a gray fog throughout.

Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa confirmed that he is in talks with aggregators such as Ola and Uber to see if an electric bus pool can be built in the NCR region.
Transportation Reform: The Transport Department will issue new guidelines on e-rickshaw routes and optimize DTC bus routings to minimize idling due to traffic congestion.
