CNN’s Scott Jennings Gets Cornered by Guest About Trump Official Who Claimed ‘Nazi Streak’
A. CNN NewsNight Addressed the guest commentator Scott Jennings during a tense exchange about the state of the MAGA movement.
Monday’s panel discussed the events following last week’s Turning Point USA event. Ben Shapiro criticized tucker carlson to conduct interviews with white nationalists. Nick Fuentes and for refusing to condemn Candace Owens For peddling conspiracy theories about the TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk’s conspiratorial. Owens, who previously worked for Shapiro at The Daily Wire, alleged that the Israeli government was involved in the murder.
Carlson spoke a few minutes later and offered to refute this claim. The next night, Steve Bannon spoke at the conference and ripped Shapiro for the same Megyn Kelly. Vice President J.D. Vance he also spoke at the event, telling the crowd: “You don’t have to apologize for being white anymore.”
Open CNN NewsNightRepublican strategist Tim Parrish He said there is no place for antisemitism and other forms of bigotry in the GOP, and that Vance has adequately condemned such attacks, including his remarks about leaked Young Republican group chats that included all kinds of racist slurs and comments about Jews and “gas chambers.”
Vance told group chat members to “grow up” but also criticized those who harshly condemned the messages for “clinging to the pearl”, saying: “kids do stupid things.”
“You mischaracterize the statements made by the vice president,” Parrish said. “He absolutely came out and condemned it and said there was no place for those kinds of comments in the Republican Party.”
Adam Mockler MeidasTouch denied the claim.
“JD Vance said he would warn his kids not to let some ‘asshole’ similarly infiltrate the group chat,” Mockler replied. “He was implying that the person who leaked the group chat was an asshole. JD Vance has been the furthest from moral clarity this entire time.”
Mockler then returned to: Paul Ingrassiaappointed by the President Donald Trump Becoming acting general counsel of the U.S. General Services Administration. Leaked text messages from Ingrassia show him saying he had a “Nazi streak” and making racist remarks.
Here’s Mockler’s conversation with Parrish and Jennings:
Sarcastic: And listen, do you know who Paul Ingrassia is?
PARRISH: Of course.
Sarcastic: Do you know who Paul Ingrassia is?
JENNINGS: Yes, we discussed that.
Sarcastic: You know… well, do you know what Paul Ingrassia said?
JENNINGS: Yes, we discussed that.
MOCKLER: That he had a Nazi streak. Ah, you discussed this. So did Trump fire him, or is he still part of the administration?
JENNINGS: I don’t know where he is right now.
MOCKLER: Part of the management. And you know this. You’re lying right now. You know he is part of the administration. It’s still there. And he said he had a “Nazi streak.” So you can sit there and be coy, but right now you don’t have the clarity that you’re talking about. Do you condemn Paul Ingrassia?
Jennings: I condemn absolutely everything…
Sarcastic: Should Trump fire Paul Ingrassia?
JENNINGS: –I’m approaching the Nazi line.
Two days after Ingrassia’s texts were made public, Jennings said he agreed with the administration’s decision to withdraw Ingrassia’s nomination to head the Civil Division. But Trump appointed Three weeks later, Ingrassia was appointed acting general counsel at the General Services Administration.
