NSW Police Minister’s driver Trevor Robert Daley in drink driving shock
The driver of the NSW Police Minister has admitted drink-driving during a business trip in the state’s south.
The matter of Trevor Robert Daley, 55, was heard in Bega Local Court on Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty to a DUI charge, his barrister said.
It is understood Daley was the driver for NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley and had traveled to the South Coast before the MP was due to open Bega Police Station at the time of the crime.
Ms. Catley is not accused of any wrongdoing.
Police responded to reports of a Toyota Prado driving dangerously on Tuesday afternoon (December 2).
About an hour later, officers found the 4WD driven by Daley parked on the side of the Snowy Mountains Highway.
Daley tested positive on a roadside breath test before being taken to Bega Police Station, where he returned a reading of 0.183, three times the legal limit.
A criminal complaint was filed against him and his driver’s license was confiscated.
Daley will now appear in Penrith court in February.
