The flexitime jobs that don’t need special skills: These are the roles that pay the most for the fewest hours worked

Achieving the perfect work/life balance is easier said than done, but there are plenty of golden jobs that pay very well for a short working week.

Money Mail scanned the job market to find the highest paying positions with short working hours. If you have transferable skills, they usually don’t require any specific experience.

And any gaps in knowledge can often be filled with on-the-job learning or training. Here is a choice.

executive assistant

In this role, you provide support to senior executives and help manage their schedules, correspondence, and managers.

Anyone with experience in the corporate world may find that they are suitable for part-time executive assistant positions if they are highly organized and adept at managing emails.

Such a position is advertised in the Office of Energy Security and Net Zero.

This position requires no specific experience as an administrative assistant but seeks candidates who are highly organized, have daily management experience, and have good communication skills.

Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll also need to pay a license fee of £184, which is valid for three years and allows you to work in close protection.

These roles pay better than door security, with an average hourly rate of between £22 and £32, equivalent to a salary of between £45,000 and £65,000 for full-time work.

Most driving instructors have control of the hours they work and accept the number of students that suit them.

Trainee instructors are then required to complete a theory test, costing £81, and driving ability and instructor aptitude tests, costing £111 each.

Cleaner

If you’re hoping to cut back on your working hours and perhaps step away from the corporate world, especially in London and other affluent areas, taking on a domestic chore can offer a healthy wage.

Outside London, roles that require no experience can still pay well; A position offered at £15 per hour at Clementine Cleaning in Woking is equivalent to around £31,000 a year. This offers between 10 and 35 hours per week.

The role requires no previous experience, but candidates must be ‘willing to receive feedback from customers’ and be committed to working at least ten hours each week.
