Early Life and Introduction to Acting
Born and brought up in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad), Mayoori completed his education at St. He completed his studies at St. Francis De Sales School and later studied at Deogiri College. Since his mother was a well-known theater artist, acting came naturally to him. This exposure to stage performances played an important role in shaping his interest in performing arts from a young age.
Breakthrough in Movies
Mayoori’s foray into films came unexpectedly during a visit to Mumbai, where filmmaker Saeed Akhtar Mirza noticed her and offered her a role in Naseem (1995), a film inspired by the events surrounding the Babri Masjid demolition. Initially hesitant due to board exams, he later accepted the offer. The film, which received positive reviews from critics, opened the doors of Bollywood for him and led to nationwide recognition of Papa Kehte Hain, produced by Mahesh Bhatt.
Choosing Passion Over IIT
Interestingly, Mayoori had secured admission to IIT Kanpur during his student days. However, due to his love for cinema, he preferred acting to engineering; this decision highlighted his willingness to take unusual risks at an early age.
A Bold Transition to the Corporate World
After stepping away from films, Mayoori moved to the United States, where she earned an MBA in marketing and finance from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in New York. His corporate career began in 2007 at 360i, an American digital agency. Over the years, he has gained deep expertise in media and marketing strategy, holding senior roles at Solution Media and Digitas.
Leadership Roles and Industry Recognition
In 2016, he became General Manager at Performics, a performance marketing agency affiliated with Publicis Groupe. His leadership credentials increased further when he joined Google India in 2019 as Sector Head, Agency Business. He returned to Publicis Groupe in August 2025, taking on the role of CEO at Publicis Global Delivery.
Personal Life
Mayoori married NRI Aditya Dhillon in December 2003 and the couple had a son in 2011. Balancing his family life with his international career, Mayoori continues to inspire many with his extraordinary transformation.
