Scarlett Moffatt heartbreakingly reveals she suffered a miscarriage with her fiancé Scott Dobinson and says she won’t have any more children

Scarlett Moffatt has heartbreakingly revealed she suffered a miscarriage after welcoming her baby son Jude.

The 35-year-old television star, who rose to fame with her family on Channel 4’s Gogglebox program, gave birth to a two-year-old son with her partner Scott Dobinson in 2023.

But Scarlett emotionally announced she would no longer be having children after suffering a miscarriage last year.

She said: ‘We had a miscarriage after Jude. It happened quite late. We told people [about the pregnancy] and we were really excited.

‘We talked about what life would be like, how they would walk down the stairs as brothers at Christmas, so you grieve the loss of that and the life you dreamed of.’

Scarlett continued to explain Sun: ‘One day I was lying in bed with Scott and I said: “I don’t think I can take any more heartbreak. I think we should stop. We have Jude, so let’s enjoy him.”

The 35-year-old television star, who rose to fame with her family on Channel 4’s Gogglebox program, gave birth to a two-year-old son with her partner Scott Dobinson in 2023.

‘My heart breaks for everyone who’s going through this and I think it’s very brave of people to continue the journey because it’s soul-destroying.’

Scarlett previously opened up about her traumatic birth to Jude, sharing that she suffered ‘significant blood loss’ during the birth.

Speaking about Loose Women last year, she said: ‘One of the things I didn’t really want when you were planning a birth was a blood transfusion but I lost, yeah, I think it was like a pint and a half of blood.

‘I was really stunned and I said [to my husband] “Please go with him” [the baby] and then had hypoglycemia.

‘His blood sugar was low, he had jaundice and I ended up in the NICU and Scott said to me, ‘What are you doing woman, get in bed.’

Following Jude’s early arrival, Scarlett expressed her gratitude to Neonatal Intensive Care Units on Instagram.

Scarlett said: ‘NICU awareness month. Some of you may know that Jude is my little miracle baby, he surprised us at just 35 weeks and 5 days early, a full month early.

‘I am always so grateful to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Durham hospital for all their help and support during this time, especially Helen (pictured here) and Charlotte!

‘That’s why I’m delighted to partner with @waterwipes as they launch the fifth annual Pure Base Fund, giving us the chance to thank individuals and teams who go above and beyond for babies born prematurely or admitted to the NICU.’

The TV personality got engaged to former police officer Scott in 2023, just months after welcoming their son, and is set to marry next year.

Speaking to the Daily Mail earlier this month, Scarlett revealed Scott gave up his career to become a stay-at-home dad.

He explained: ‘I feel really lucky because I decided to take two years off for the first two years when Jude was born. So I was in full time mom mode, it was the best.

‘And then when Jude turned two I was like ‘okay, I need to get back to work now’ so I could have conversations with adults because I missed that.

‘Also, you know, this industry is so tough that I knew if I put in more time people might think, ‘oh, there’s that girl who’s on TV sometimes.’

‘So my partner Scott is brilliant, he’s now taken a two-year break from his police career. So now he’s in full-time dad mode, which is nice. So we kind of get by and we have grandparents too.’
