Residents urged to stay indoors as firefighters battle blaze
Residents have been urged to stay at home temporarily while firefighters battle a blaze at a house in Brisbane’s north on Sunday.
An emergency was declared after a fire broke out on Kinsellas Road West in Mango Hill around 7 a.m. Sunday. It has since been cancelled.

A Queensland Fire Brigade spokesman said three sheds at the rear of the property had burned down and there was “lots of stuff to burn” inside. The material included tires and the resulting smoke led to a declaration of emergency.
A QFD spokesman said atmospheric tests have since returned zero results, meaning the air is safe.
Two fire trucks remained on site Sunday afternoon, dumping water on the area. Fire crews were also called to determine the cause of the fire.
Smoke rises from the Mango Hill fire, which prompted an emergency declaration.
Four people were evaluated by paramedics but did not require hospitalization.
Residents of Kinsellas Road West, Diamond Jubilee Way and Waler Close have been asked to stay indoors if possible, with their windows closed and their air conditioning on recirculation mode. The public was asked to stay away from the area.
Photos shared on social media showed thick black smoke rising from the house, and residents reported a strong odor.
