US Imposes Fresh Sanctions Citing Iran-Venezuela Arms Deal | World News

US Sanctions: The US administration announced sanctions against 10 organizations and individuals in Iran and Venezuela, accusing Tehran of supplying conventional weapons to Caracas and threatening US interests in the Western Hemisphere, including the US homeland.
A Venezuelan company targeted by sanctions was involved in the sale of millions of dollars worth of Iranian-designed combat drones, the US State Department and the US Treasury Department said in separate statements, Xinhua news agency reported.
Earlier on Monday, US President Donald Trump warned that Iran could face “stronger consequences than last time” if it continues banned military activity, while also signaling that he is open to renewed diplomatic relations with Tehran. “Iran may be behaving badly,” Trump said at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago.

“But if it is approved… the consequences will be very powerful,” he said in response to a question. Trump said intelligence suggested Iran may seek alternative locations following previous US strikes. “The sites have been destroyed, but they are looking at other sites,” he said. “And if they’re doing that, they’re making a big mistake.”
When asked if the United States would support bilateral talks with Iran, Trump simply replied, “Yes, I would. Of course.” He said he had previously called for negotiations before clashes escalated.
“I said let’s negotiate, but they didn’t believe what would happen,” Trump said. “They believe me now.” Trump has argued that reducing Iran’s influence is central to broader regional peace. “If these develop, there can be no peace in the Middle East,” he said.
