Rajnath Hoists Flag in Ram Temple Complex to Mark Second Year of Idol Consecration

Ayodhya: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday hoisted a flag at the Annapurna Temple in the Ram Temple complex and joined prayers on the occasion of the second anniversary of Pran Pratishtha. The senior BJP leader was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Annapurna Temple is one of the seven temples in the Ram Temple complex.

The event on Wednesday followed a program on November 25 where Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the saffron flag, marking the official completion of the construction of the Ram Temple.

Before reaching the Ram Temple complex, Singh and Adityanath prayed at the Hanumangarhi Temple here.

Officials said Singh also prayed in front of the Ram Lalla idol and participated in the Pran Pratishtha Dwadashi program as chief yajman.

Pran Pratishtha Dwadashi rituals are planned to continue until Friday.

Religious rituals at the temple started on Saturday.

An idol of Ram Lalla was consecrated at the temple in a ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22, 2024.

An official of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Foundation said that an estimated five to six lakh devotees are expected to arrive in Ayodhya for darshan of Ram Lalla on the second anniversary.
