College football fans get upset with ESPN

College football fans were glued to Wednesday night’s playoff matchup between the national champion Ohio State Buckeyes and the 10-seeded Miami Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes took the lead by two points on a smart touchdown pass by Carson Beck and a pick-six by Keionte Scott.
On social media, college football fans were upset about a different issue.

The ESPN scoring error appeared to distract viewers and they announced it on X. As teams suffer their first defeats in the game, a golden indicator flashes in the middle of the bug to indicate success. But college football fans were upset that it looked like a penalty flag had been thrown.
While Miami entered the locker room leading 14-0, no penalties were called in the first half of the match.

Beck found Mark Fletcher Jr. for a 9-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. The score corrected Fletcher’s failure on the previous possession.
Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin tried to respond with a field goal of his own. Instead, Sayin tackled Scott, who returned the ball for a touchdown.
The Buckeyes were moving the ball well on their final drive of the half. It looked like Sayın was finally starting to find his rhythm. The drive ended with a missed 49-yard field goal attempt.
