Premium Bonds prize NS&I checker: When is January’s draw and who are the winners

Savers have the chance to win great prizes as the Premium Bond winning numbers are announced every month. There are currently 24 million people participating in a government-backed savings scheme, with more than £127 billion banked.
Premium bonds are an investment product of the government-owned National Savings and Investment (NS&I). Every month millions of savers enter a prize draw to win cash prizes ranging from £25 to £1 million, with two millionaires being won in each draw.
The odds of winning for every £1 entered are 22,000 to one. The minimum investment is £25 and the maximum is £50,000.
These savings do not accrue interest as with regular bank accounts, but are placed against a random digital prize selector called ‘Ernie’ (Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment).
Date of this month’s draw friday 2 Fireplace. The results of this draw will be announced a day later and published by NS&I. Here.
Who won the £1 million jackpot this month?
The first £1 million premium bond winning number this month is 570QM451332, an account holder from Suffolk. They bought the winning bond less than two years ago in February 2024 and hold £50,000. They became the 11th person from Suffolk to win the jackpot.
The second number, 377PG290829, belongs to someone in Berkshire. They have had £50,000 on hand since December 2019. They became the fifth person to win the £1 million jackpot in Berkshire.
NS&I Retail Director Andrew Westhead said: “We are delighted to start 2026 by creating the year’s first Premium Bond millionaires in Suffolk and Berkshire.
“It’s not just the jackpot winners who are celebrating. This month ERNIE won more than six million tax-free prizes worth over £406 million, bringing a happy new year to savers across the country.

What are the chances of winning with Premium Bonds?
There are many Premium Bond winners every month, but the actual chances of winning are quite low. Most people will never win any rewards, meaning their investments will remain the same. But the plan is also risk-free, meaning no money is lost.
Analysis by monetary expert Martin Lewis found that the ‘interest rate’ on Premium Bond accounts was 4 per cent when all earnings were taken into account; But he notes that most people won’t see anything like this. Many savings accounts in the UK also offer a higher interest rate than this and this will be much more consistent.
The distribution of rewards changes slightly every month. The results in January 2026 were:
- £1 million x 2
- £100,000 x 77
- £50,000 x 156
- £25,000 x 309
- £10,000 x 773
- £5,000 x 1,548
- £1,000 x 16,276
- £500 x 48,828
- £100 x 1,731,056
- £50 x 1,731,056
- £25 x 2,635,562
