US Strikes Venezuela: Donald Trump’s BIG statement after capturing President Nicolas Maduro: ‘We’re going to…’

Following the capture of Nicolás Maduro, Donald Trump said the United States would rule Venezuela indefinitely, oversee the future transition, and take control of the energy infrastructure of U.S. oil companies. He praised a covert military operation and said Caracas was blacked out and no U.S. soldiers or equipment were lost.
Former US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the US would assume direct control over Venezuela for an indefinite period following the capture of President Nicolás Maduro, arguing that a long-term presence was necessary to ensure stability and prevent a return to the political turmoil of the past.
Speaking at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump said Washington would monitor the country until it determined a risk-free transition of power could occur.
‘We will govern the country until we can make a safe, appropriate and reasonable transition,’ he said. ‘We don’t want to get involved with anyone else coming in and we’re in the same situation we’ve been in for the last many years. That’s why we will rule the country.’
He added that there was no fixed timeline for returning authority to Venezuela’s leadership and emphasized that U.S. officials will remain in office until they are confident that the next administration will act in the public interest.
‘We will stay until the appropriate transition can occur,’ he said.
The Oil Sector Will Be Given to the Control of US Companies
Trump also announced plans to give US oil companies control over Venezuela’s energy sector, saying American companies would provide the capital and expertise needed to restore production and infrastructure.
‘We’re going to have our largest US oil companies anywhere in the world come in, spend billions of dollars, fix badly broken infrastructure, oil infrastructure, and start bringing money into the country,’ he said.
According to Trump, the move will revitalize a sector that has suffered from years of underinvestment while generating revenue that will benefit the Venezuelan economy.
Military Operation Praised
Trump strongly defended the US military operation that resulted in Maduro’s arrest, describing the operation as extremely complex and effective. He said parts of Caracas were plunged into darkness during the mission, which he portrayed as evidence of American technological superiority.
‘No nation in the world can achieve what America achieved yesterday,’ he said.
‘It was dark, the lights in Caracas were largely turned off because of the particular expertise we had,’ he added. ‘It was dark and deadly.’
He emphasized that the mission was completed without American casualties or loss of equipment.
‘If you had seen what I saw last night, you would have been very impressed,’ he said. ‘Not a single American soldier was killed and not a single piece of American equipment was lost.’
Trump claimed that the operation involved heavy use of US planes and helicopters, conducted in coordination with law enforcement, and that Venezuela’s military capabilities were effectively neutralized.
