Worst celebrity homes REVEALED as soulless and cluttered mansions prove money doesn’t always buy taste

There’s nothing like looking into a celebrity’s home.

Many famous faces are really proud of their homes and spare no expense when it comes to decorating the interiors and choosing high-end furniture.

The best celebrity homes are aspirational: They allow ordinary folk to dream of one day owning something equally grand.

But less impressive areas fall short of expectations. Maybe the space is cluttered or the decor is off.

Worse still, perhaps the house seems a little too ‘normal’.

Here, the Daily Mail takes a closer look at the homes of the least desirable celebrities and shows that money doesn’t always bring pleasure.

Julia Fox

First up is Julia Fox’s modest two-bedroom apartment in New York City, which was ridiculed after showing fans around in 2023.

The 35-year-old star of Uncut Gems took to TikTok to show off her ‘scant’ Manhattan home, which consists of shoeboxes and leftover items tucked away in a corner.

Children’s toys created obstacles on the floor, and the tables around the bedroom and apartment were covered in ornaments that made the house look disturbingly messy.

‘Personally, I don’t like excessive displays of wealth; Fox, who was previously with Kanye West, said: “Especially people with really big houses make me feel disgusting.”

‘It’s a real waste when there are so many homeless people in this country and I’m not really like that.’

The apartment looks like the one ordinary New Yorkers live in, but it doesn’t look like it even has an armchair or couch to sit on, as he’s turned the living room into a bedroom.

Social media users couldn’t get over the confusion, with one writing on Reddit: ‘There’s so much shit in that flat it would drive me crazy.’

But another said: ‘The most normal living space I’ve ever seen for a celebrity.’

Continuing the theme of clutter and normalcy, Cynthia Nixon’s Montauk home surprised fans when she shared a look inside in May.

The Sex and the City star reportedly purchased the three-bedroom, two-bathroom property in East Hampton, New York, for $1.7 million in 2010.

Earlier this year, Nixon, 59, stunned social media users by unveiling her no-frills kitchen.

While some expected Nixon to be the owner of a luxurious, high-end culinary haven, the actor revealed a messy, old-school space instead.

The actress also boasted a refreshingly understated mocha pot on top of her gas stove for making coffee.

Fans in the comments section were blown away by her comfort food.

‘Finally a celebrity kitchen that looks like the one someone used!’ one fan gushed.

‘This is the healthiest thing I’ve seen on the internet in a long time!’ one person wrote admiringly.

Bethenny Frankel’s $4.5 million home in Boca Raton, Florida, was recently labeled ‘disgusting,’ ‘cheap,’ and ‘boring’ by unimpressed viewers.

The former Real Housewives of New York City star, 55, bought the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bath home earlier this year after moving to the sunny state with her 15-year-old daughter, Brynne.

Highly inspired by Tulum, Mexico, the abode is minimal yet modern, featuring a white boucle bed, herringbone wallpaper, vegan leather feathered chair, and marble side tables.

Complete with a state-of-the-art kitchen, plenty of high ceilings and a swimming pool, the residence has it all.

Frankel showcased her luxury home in Architectural Digest earlier this month, and the reaction from fans was so negative that Frankel later posted a video defending the home’s interiors.

He retorted: ‘I love living there and [my homes] They are exactly what I wanted them to be but designed as investments.

‘For example, my house in the Hamptons [that I bought] for $2,675 [million] I just sold it for $6 [million].’

He also defended his use of neutral tones throughout his home and explained that since he moves around so often, he uses colors that everyone can ‘relate to’.

“I’m not the one who’s going to take bones from China and put them in my place, I’m not that bitch,” she added.

Kim Kardashian may seem to have the perfect life, but her spacious eight-bedroom, ten-bathroom abode in Hidden Hills has been attacked multiple times.

The mother of four originally bought the house for $20 million in 2014, while she was still married to West, and spent years redecorating it with the help of Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt and other big names in modern architecture.

While everything was supposed to be going well, the house has gone viral time and time again for its minimalist, neutral-toned aesthetic, which many observers described as ‘cold’ or ‘depressing’.
