Snow forecast LIVE: UK weather chaos as Met Office pinpoints where snow to fall in England | Weather | News

A yellow weather alert has been issued for central and northern Scotland from 11am on Tuesday until 7pm the same day. Travel delays are likely on roads, some vehicles and passengers are likely to be stranded, and some delays and cancellations in rail and air transport are also likely.

There is a high probability that some rural communities will be disconnected. Power outages are likely to occur, with the potential to impact other services such as mobile phone coverage.

The Met Office said injuries from slips and falls were likely to occur on icy surfaces, and untreated pavements and cycle paths were likely to become impassable.

As a result, the weather bureau has advised Scots to be careful in inclement weather.

The yellow weather warning covers the following areas and local authorities: Angus, Perth and Kinross, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray and Highland.
